“The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly” ~ Isaiah 60:22.
Doubt
Waiting on something God has revealed or promised you is not easy. There is so much warfare.
There are days where you starting thinking “maybe I didn’t hear Him right” or “maybe I made it all up”. But if God has truly told you something and confirmed it in ways only you can undertsand, then I encourage you to keep holding on.
- “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” ~ Psalm 27:14
- “For no word from God will ever fail“~ Luke 1:37. God is not a liar, He will not tell you something then turn around and not deliver. So if He has revealed it to you and told you, it will come to pass. Remember to pray and seek clarity from Him whether that word or revelation was from Him.
Confusion
There is confusion as to how God will make it happen. When you look at your life as it is now, you wonder how God will bring that blessing, prayer or desire to pass.
This really manifests when we starting thinking logically. You start looking at the facts: what your finances are right now, what relationship you are in, your singleness, your past with that person, your past experiences, your qualifications for that job, and other things. Jesus cares about you. Invite Him and tell Him how you feel.
- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” ~ Philippians 4:6.
Do not let how you feel get in the way of what God has said. Try not to let how you feel make you limit God.
- “As you do not know the path of the wind or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” ~ Ecclestiastes 11:5.
Anticipation
There is conflict about the when. As humans, we tend to want things now. This makes us have high expectations about what WE think will happen and when. Then when things don’t happen in our timing, we get disappointed. We get discouraged about holding on.
- Jeremiah 29:11 teaches us that God always has a plan, there is nothing that He has not thought of. He has a way.
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your own understanding;” ~ Proverbs 3:5.
Perspective
It’s all about persepctive. If you keep doubting, getting confused, and anticipating, then that thing you are waiting on is becoming an idol.
God is so gracious that He prepares us to not only receive His blessings but to maintain it. Exodus features the Israelites in the desert after being delivered from Egypt. They were supposed to stay in the desert for 11 days but stayed for 40 years because they rebelled againt God and did not remember Him. Imagine if God led them to the promised land in the 11 days. If they forgot about Him in the wilderness BEFORE the blessing, what would have happened if they got it?
The same way they were tested, we too are sometimes tested whether we will still rely on Jesus before and after getting the blessing. Jesus works on our hearts so that we know how to manage the blessings He gives us, and also so that we do not forget about Him in the process.
Conclusion
Keep holding on. Keep resting in what God has told you. Keep relying on Him. Keep His Word close to your heart so you do not get dismayed by the lies and the temptations the devil throws your way.
God chose you. God wanted to bless YOU with that blessing, He doesn’t make mistakes. He knows what you want but is so loving to give you what you need.
The blessing may be coming sooner than you think, and it’s going to be so exciting when it comes. Not only with you be blessed, but others will be blessed.
- “You did not chose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit- fruit that will last- and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you.” ~ John 15:16.
